Additional Tips
- Cook a whole chicken. This tip makes this meal cheaper, and easier. If you plan on having two meals during the week that both require chicken this works perfectly. Just cook the chicken at the beginning of the week, pick the meat off, then boil the bones to make the broth you will need for the meal as well. This saves money as well as time since you are essentially getting two meals and three ingredients out of it.
- The dumpling recipe is actually the same as my southern style biscuit recipe, only cut in half. If you make the full recipe, you can use half of the dough for dumplings, and the other half biscuits for another meal during the week (breakfast the next day is a great option!). If only two are eating you can follow the dumpling recipe and just use a little leftover dough to make biscuits.
